3. Minutes
The Council RESOLVED to approve the meeting minutes of the 19th August subject to the following amendments:
7.1 The efforts by Colin and Richard, to remove the beck weed by hand are not sustainable. The Council believe the strimming of the beck weed was a worthwhile exercise. The contractor suggested spraying the weed in future, but at this time the Council resolved not to use spraying as a control method. The Council RESOLVED to strim 4-5 times in the next season and review the overall effect that this has.
8.1 Epicormic growth around the base of the trees on The Avenue and two on the village green.

5.1 The Council undertook further discussion about the best approach to the beck weed control. It was agreed that the reason for the need to control the beck weed is to ensure that the waterway remains as clear as possible. The Council would prefer to use other means than spraying and will monitor growth in light of seasonal variations in weather and therefore growth rates. Resolution to undertake works as per the minutes of the 18/08/25 amendment 7.1 above (Item 3).
5.2 Councillor Duck read out a draft note for those properties that abut the beck in the village as it is the responsibility of those residents to keep the beck clear of weeds and free flowing and cut back any hedges to allow access, should it be needed. The Council agreed with the wording and Councillor Duck to distribute.
